What Motivo is

Motivo is a fitness and nutrition tracking app. It records what you choose to log — food, training, body weight and related measurements — and shows you summaries, trends and estimates calculated from those entries.

Motivo is a general wellness product. It is not a medical device, it does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and nothing it shows you is medical advice.

Motivo is not medical advice

The figures Motivo shows describe what you logged and what follows arithmetically from it. They are not a clinical assessment and not a verdict on your health.

Do not use Motivo to make decisions about a medical condition, medication, pregnancy, an eating disorder or any symptom that concerns you. Speak to a qualified healthcare professional. If you believe you are having a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately.

Energy and macronutrient targets are estimates derived from population formulae and from what you have entered. Individual requirements vary, and a target Motivo shows you may be wrong for you.

Who may use Motivo

You must be old enough to use Motivo in your country and to give consent for your data to be processed. Some features, including coaching that sets calorie or weight targets, are available only to adults.

You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and for keeping your sign-in credentials to yourself.

Your account and your data

You keep ownership of what you log. Motivo stores it so the app can show it back to you and calculate from it.

You can export your data and you can delete your account, which deletes the data held against it. What is shared with other people is described in the Privacy policy — in short, activity summaries are visible to accounts you have accepted as friends, and to nobody else.

AI features

Some features send what you type, and photographs you choose to attach, to a third-party AI model in order to produce an estimate or a summary. These are estimates. An AI calorie estimate is a guess with a stated range, it is labelled as an estimate wherever it appears, and it is never a substitute for a measured or labelled figure.

Do not rely on an AI estimate for an allergy, an intolerance, a medical restriction or any decision where being wrong matters. Motivo does not verify what a model returns.

Subscriptions and payment

Some features require a paid subscription. Prices, billing periods and what each plan includes are shown before you subscribe.

Payments are handled by Stripe; Motivo does not store your card details. A subscription renews until it is cancelled. Cancelling stops future charges and does not refund a period already paid for, except where the law requires otherwise.

Acceptable use

Do not use Motivo to harass another person, to impersonate anyone, to attempt to reach another account's data, to probe or disrupt the service, or to do anything unlawful.

We may suspend or close an account that does these things.

Availability, and changes to the app

Motivo is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be available without interruption or free of defects, and features may change or be withdrawn.

We will give reasonable notice before a change that materially reduces what a paid plan includes.

Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, Motivo is not liable for loss arising from your use of the app, including any decision you make on the basis of a figure it displayed.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Changes to these terms

These terms carry a version. If they change in a way that affects your rights or obligations, Motivo will ask you to accept the new version, and will record which version you accepted and when.

An acceptance of an earlier version is not an acceptance of a later one.
